Spring/Summer 2010 Menswear Collection – Hackett Designer Menswear

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Behind the scenes preview video of the new Spring/Summer 2010 Menswear Collection. This season’s theme is The Art of Dressing and the video was shot on location at The Saatchi Gallery in London, during the season’s photo shot with world renowned photographer Garda Tang. The Menswear Collection reinforces Hackett’s associations with major British sporting events. Battle of Blues is inspired by our sponsorship of The Boat Race. The Aston Martin Racing Collection features the iconic Le Mans Gulf colours, The Mayfair Collection is split between London Greys & Brown in Town, which supports the suggestion that brown can now indeed be worn in town. Island is a colourful collection evoking sand-swept terrains & seascapes. Finally, Into the Blue uses a palette of blues & whites, taking the collection from day to evening. Hackett London is THE classic British clothing and accessories strain, catering for the head-to-toe needs of men of all ages who wish to dress stylishly and to whom quality is more vital than the vagaries of fashion. Composition: ‘Night in Tunisia’ by Jan Johansson

Fall 2008 Fashion Influences From the Interwar Period of the 1930′s and 1940′s

Monday, May 24th, 2010

It’s no secret that history repeats itself in both politics and trend. For the last few years, fashion has been following suit reworking trends from all the last major decades from the 60′s onward. But this fall, many designers have combined various generational trends notably pulling thoughts from the 1930’s-1940’s interwar period styles.

Exiting the 1920′s period of secret night clubs and bootlegging, where tight, shapely silhouettes and small hemlines were a la mode , the following decade started to cover back up and change shape.  Attention started to be focused on the shoulder with the introduction of butterfly sleeves, caplets and bolero jackets.  The invention of synthetic fabrics, nylon and zippers during this period allowable for increased construction experimentation and became more common place in fashion development.  These new synthetic fabrics gave designers new opportunities in shape and structure. Pleating and draping gave way to new looks and waistlines which were heightened and re-adjusted.

Circle Menswear – the leaders in branded menswear at seriously competitive prices

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

Designer clothing has matured over time, providing both stylishness and quality unrivaled by the everyday clothing seller. The appeal of such branded clothing is multifold, not only do they provide for a rewarding and fine-looking appearance amongst social groups but they provide a higher status in a professional environment too. Excuse the cliché but the saying “first impressions last” could not be overstated in what you derive out of and from within life. Looking excellent also adds to that all vital self-confidence, a critical aura in coming crosswise positively and with charisma which could make the difference between make or break.

This begs the question why is designer menswear so well loved? Why do we buy the authentic designer garment and not the cheaper one that aesthetically at least can look identical? The simple answer is designer brands are well loved because they mandate quality, stylishness, elegance and inspiration, higher than all they are manufactured using the finest of materials and production methods to provide them with durability that you would expect from such garments. They may be more expensive than standard clothing, but they set the standards where others stay on.
